Giving Room
John 8:15-16 (GW) You judge the way humans do. I don't judge anyone. Even if I do judge, my judgment is valid because I don't make it on my own. I make my judgment with the Father who sent me.
Have you ever been caught in a dog fight? I have, you end up being bitten by your own dog. When dogs are fighting they are in a different place, their teeth are gnashing and their eyes are red with rage, they see the other dog as the enemy. As you try to separate the dogs because you can see the damage coming you risk damage to yourself.
Last night I was caught in such a fight. We have the spouse of a divorced person coming to DivorceCare. There is so much bad blood between the parties it is horrifying. Children are involved as well.
I was seen as taking sides and copped a tongue lashing. To be able to help the spouse receive as much from the programme as possible I have to give them room. This is a tenuous task but one I can do without taking sides. It is Jesus who knows hearts and it is He who must judge not me.
In all conflict I must make room for Christ. In all the pain I have been through I have had to seek Him as He alone knows the full picture. I only know my bit, the piece I see, the way I am treated but what is God saying? What is He trying to do in my life?
I believe I am anointed to bring grace and that grace must win because then my Jesus is there, not me, not my team, not those who agree with my injury. I want His glory more than anything else, He must win. Amen!
