Judgement

John 16:8-11 (MSG)"When he comes, he'll expose the error of the godless world's view of sin, righteousness, and judgment: He'll show them that their refusal to believe in me is their basic sin; that righteousness comes from above, where I am with the Father, out of their sight and control; that judgment takes place as the ruler of this godless world is brought to trial and convicted.
Wow! How does this shoot down a lot of what we practice?

If I were to ask anyone out there in the world to tell me what they considered was sin they would say things like murder and robbery, adultery would no longer be on the list as it is now acceptable.

Yet Jesus said that refusal to believe in Him is our basic sin. I could be picky and say that this is inside church as well as outside. Going to church and singing a few songs, repeating liturgy, listening to sermons does not equate with belief in it's truest form.

Righteousness, well now isn't that because I am so good doing all the right things compared to.......

Jesus said the true righteousness comes from above out of our sight and control. You mean we can't manipulate it? Yes! Praise God! It is pure and undefiled.

Judgement, well now that is where I judge your behaviour, right? Wrong! Judgement is about the cause of all our grief getting his.

You mean I can't judge you? But you are so slack! Why you don't do what a christian leader should do, why you don't behave like a christian at all. Slack! Slack! Slack!

Why I think I will go and rewrite the rules, give the Lord some advice, enlighten Him on reality. Hem! Hem!

Praise God he is God!

Praise You Lord that You are greater than judgement and attitude and self-righteousness. Amen!
