Power not Knowledge

Acts 1:7 (AMP) He said to them, It is not for you to become acquainted with and know what time brings ............
Acts 1:8 (AMP) 8 But you shall receive power ..... and you shall be My witnesses .....
It is common for us to want to know. When will this happen? What will happen? How will me life work out?
Jesus taught His disciples to be anxious for nothing, not to try and work things out but to trust.
The Lord's plan was that we would be baptised with His power to do His work not sitting around fretting about our lives and how we will pay our bills, how we will survive.
The enemy comes against us with fears, he plays on our anxieties about tomorrow. Yet while we are distracted about tomorrow we lose sight of today and His plan for today.
When the disciples waited, as directed, for this Holy Spirit, they spent time in community reading the word and praying. They became centred and focused, they became quiet and at rest. They became ready for their empowering.
Fretting causes a lot of activity and activity prevents waiting on God, which in turn dis-empowers us, we need to wait to be clothed. Amen!
