Acts 19:2 (MSG) The first thing he said was, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Did you take God into your mind only, or did you also embrace him with your heart? Did he get inside you?"
"We've never even heard of that—a Holy Spirit? God within us?"
This is an interesting way of asking are you born again? In fact a beautiful way. Do you know about God or does He dwell in you?
I have know the Lord personally for many years but before I invited Him into my life I knew Him all my life with my mind and struggled to know Him more.
There are many who know Him with their mind and do not desire to know Him more, sadly they never will.
To go into eternity without knowing Christ would be devastation, emptiness. I am so blessed to have known Him and to be able to raise my children to know Him and my grandchildren to know Him.
Yesterday I took my grandson fishing in a local pond for rainbow trout, they stayed away. However a group of four young boys descended upon us.
At first I was suspicious and cautious but they were well mannered and wanted to share our experience with us. They stayed and chatted for quite a while, talking fishing and enjoying our company.
Last night I learned that these boys were from the rough part of town and their appreciation at being allowed to share our line was based upon their experience of being shunned.
As I write this I am convicted of their need to know my Jesus. 'Lord have mercy upon them, give them a desire to know you more and may they come again to find more than they bargained for.' Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
