Get it!

Romans 12:9 (MSG) Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it.
I have discovered that God has given me a unique deposit. He gives me those he wants me to love and care for. When I love as He loves it is easy.
Romans 12:6-8 (MSG) let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't.
If you preach, just preach God's Message, nothing else;
if you help, just help, don't take over;
if you teach, stick to your teaching;
if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy;
if you're put in charge, don't manipulate;
if you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond;
if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.
When I work in the grace given to me it is easy.
Yesterday while I was doing an online exam I had a friend came to me for advice. I had, fortunately, the wisdom to know I needed the Lord's answer. I prayed and spoke. This friend sees me as a sane dependable, wise friend. I am these things as I walk with Christ, not apart from Him.
Today I go to visit my friend who is walking through chemo for pancreatic cancer. He has had many friend's of Job come to visit. Through this experience God has taught me to not want an explanation as to why he has this road, not to question 'who sinned?'. This friend needs me to be a true loyal friend who allows the Holy Spirit room to move in His life.
We really need to 'get it'. We are Christ's ambassadors of grace. We are not the Holy Spirit, it is His job to provide, counsel, convict. It is my job to love and obey Him. If I am asked a question I can answer it but otherwise I am right to allow God to be God.
...if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy.... We have a tendency to overdo our role and get into the flesh, this is our challenge.
Lord I ask for Your grace and mercy today. Amen!
