Joyful Anticipation

Romans 8:19-21 (MSG) The created world itself can hardly wait for what's coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.
Frustration comes because we are impatient yet the above scripture tells us God's way.
God has a bigger plan. He is the master builder. He sees where He is going with all this, He knows where we all fit, what we will do and what the result will be.
Why be impatient for a less than result? Why not experience joyful anticipation?
My son and his wife are expecting another baby, their fourth. We do not know the sex of this baby. They have three boys and would love a girl but won't be upset if they have another boy.
Pregnancy is a living example of not being able to instantly order on-line. God forbid that we short circuit this, yet the way things are going pregnancy as we know it may not exist in the future. What a shame!
Joyful anticipation needs to be experienced, it is sweet in fulfillment. Let God do His thing and let yourself enjoy the journey.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
