Patient Persistence

Romans 2:7 (AMP) To those who by patient persistence in well-doing [springing from piety] seek [unseen but sure] glory and honor and [the eternal blessedness of] immortality, He will give eternal life.
Patient persistence challenges us, rebukes us, calls us, courts us. Our God is patient and faithful. As we study biblical history He patiently chastened His people to lead them back to Himself.
My God has worked patience into my life and now I see Him woven like silver thread throughout and rejoice. Maybe because I am a girl and like sparkly or maybe because I am a lover of God and love to know He is so with me.
While spending time with the grandchildren I sang to them 'have patience, have patience don't be in such a hurry, when you get impatient you only start to worry, remember, remember that God is patient to, think of all the times that He's been patient with you'. (Old Bullfrongs and Butterflies song-I think)
My granddaughter would look, and listen. Her brother was too impatient and did not hear. I think our God is singing such songs to us. The love that made me sing makes Him sing. He really does love us and wants us to know His speed (peace).
God's speed is indeed right, full of wholeness, life, healing, blessing. As we walk in sync with Him life is one joy after another, it is good. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
