The Climax
Colossians 1:5 (MSG) The lines of purpose in your lives never grow slack, tightly tied as they are to your future in heaven, kept taut by hope.
Purpose holds me together it is fueled by vision and that is kept taut by the hope that fills me.
I cannot back down, become slack, walk away because the more I know Him the more I am drawn forward.
I am surrounded by all those who have gone before and who know Him. Paul, in the above passage, is writing to a church in Colosse, way back when, but because I am hungry for more of my God I am a part of what he is writing. I see the Holy Spirit in the words, the letters, the content, the heart of the message and I love it.
As I look at Him, all things come together, all things. It is when I look away that disappointment lurks wishing to capture my heart. Away foul beast!
As I quieten my heart and wait on Him, trusting Him, enjoying Him, He brings abundance my way. Yesterday after I had returned home from babysitting I had a call, 'mum are you at home I have a present for you'. I was, practising the uke my neighbour had given me. (not for the public viewing yet). My son is smitten by the Holy Spirit who wants to bless me and is the current funnel.
I see the abundance coming my way, I see the blessing that is mine but I will not urge it on, I will wait contentedly as when it comes it will be at it's fullest and my enjoyment will be at it's peak (the climax). Amen!
