Both Sides

Ecclesiastes 7:18 (MSG) 18 It's best to stay in touch with both sides of an issue. A person who fears God deals responsibly with all of reality, not just a piece of it.
Ah now here is wisdom. A quiet spirit does not rush with the first piece of news but waits until the full picture is born.
Again and again I have the intemperate come along to tempt me, incite me to react. I have to be vigilant not to join in the frey or I will later regret it.
Do all things work together for good for those who love God? My bible tells me so in Romans 8. What is truth in my life? Some manipulating, mouthy, greedy person or the word of God?
If God be for me..... then who is this? What is their authority?
If the only emotion I give reign to is a sense of peace and quiet who can fluster me? I can't do it in myself I must invite the Lord and His strength to take me past reaction.
I have a friend who is struggling to keep it all together in her own strength, I am watching her grow tired. Our God promises to refresh us. He invites us to come to Him for He is 'meek and lowly and His burden is light'. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
