The Secret

Colossians 2:2-4 (MSG) I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God's great mystery.
All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we've been shown the mystery!
I'm telling you this because I don't want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries, or "the Secret."
Our minds are enticed by mystery, conspiracy theory, intrigue, 'secrets revealed'.
Sinful self-will causes us to follow any mystery other than the truth because the truth is so simple.
We complicate the gift of love freely given so we can manipulate in our own lives, we seek to control God and others by our own mindset.
We would do will to stop and face truth about ourselves, the real truth and then listen to His truth. Jesus said the truth will set you free. The only 'truth' that sets us free is His truth. All other 'truth' will put us in a cage of doing and behaving.
Grace says 'let go, trust'. I don't have to earn the freedom, earn the blessing, earn the relationship, I just need to come as a little child and trust.
Grace is the most satisfying place on earth. I have travelled widely, slept in some exotic beds but I can say the best place is the place of rest in Grace. Being smack dab in the centre of His will is so satisfying. All the experiences and stuff one can accumulate shadows in comparison to the green pastures He offers.
We humans seek the ultimate experience and sillily follow the world's advertising and believe the rainbow's end is a physical place. No! There is a rainbow's end but it isn't what we think. It is a person, a presence that eclipses all.
I find You in the secret place, the place where You are, away from all distractions, a quiet place where I can hear Your voice. You whisper songs of love. What love You have for me. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
