Songs of Love

Song of Songs 1:7 (MSG) Tell me where you're working —I love you so much— Tell me where you're tending your flocks, where you let them rest at noontime. Why should I be the one left out, outside the orbit of your tender care?
The Song of Solomon is a love story, full of unbridled passion of a young woman and her lover, Solomon.
There have been many parallels drawn between the Lord and His passionate love for us.
The above passage reminds me of my prayer, at times. 'Lord, where are You, what are You doing, I want to be involved, I want to be with You.'
Passion for the Lord never goes unanswered. When I long to meet Him and hear His word, I will go to church and hear the message as if it is just for me, a letter from Him.
Last night I went to a birthday party for a woman who had been in DivorceCare last year. The Lord had reached out to her and her children with His love. At this stage the woman has settled for another earthly man.
As I read the Old Testament I see My God reaching out to His people and their, apathy at times but I know a passionate God does not give up easily.
Yesterday before the party I went to visit a woman who needs to come to DivorceCare. She is in the early stages of separation. As her life poured out I saw a little girl who knew a limited, very limited view of love.
Our God knows us and knows where we are at. He know what life as dealt us and therefore the blinders we have on our eyes as we have never experienced love like He can give. If we have never experienced it then we don't know that it is possible.
I feel His heart for these women and even those I met at the party, I loved them as He would and had no problem meeting them where they were at, my cry is Lord give me salvation, paint me with it, draw the lost with it. Amen!
