Real Wisdom

James 3:17 (MSG)  Real wisdom, God's wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced.

James 3:13-14 (MSG)  Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here's what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It's the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts.
Mean-spirited ambition isn't wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn't wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn't wisdom.

Real wisdom! It is a consistent life, walking humbly with our God. To keep it we must spend time waiting and not always rushing. Waiting before God is a humbling experience and like having a spiritual shower. waiting says to the Lord, I need You, I am painfully aware of my own sin nature which will rise up if i don't wait for You.

Real wisdom is not a feeling, it has nothing to do with the emotions. If emotions are involved then we are deceiving ourselves and the wisdom is natural, carnal and lacking true substance.

Real wisdom is knowing God and trusting Him for the answer. If we keep Him in the mix we are safe.

Real wisdom takes it times and walks in reality, it does not boast, lie, cheat, cover itself, it is pure, clean an honest.

Real wisdom says to the Lord 'I need YOU'. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
