In Him

Habakkuk 2:2-3 (MSG)  And then God answered: "Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what's coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn't lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It's on its way. It will come right on time.

Like Habakkuk we can look at what is happening all around us. We could assume that God is judging us but as we wait, as Habakkuk did we discover the truth. God has a plan.

Evil is constantly swirling around, destroying what is good and clean and lovely. There is only one Hope for us and that is being hidden in Christ.

He is our ever present Hope, He is our refuge if we allow it. He is the capsule in which we travel through all the powerful forces being unleashed on our world. As I am a sci-fi buff I imagine myself travelling through an asteroid belt, in Him, He is my capsule, I am safe, I bear His tattoo, none other.

Through all that happens I must gain His perspective first. My daughter and son-in-law moved to Queensland several years ago, not long after I had moved to Wodonga. Very soon my son, his wife and four little children go to Dallas to live. I am not moved He has a plan. The pastor of my church is leaving, all my friends are on the move yet I remain stable because of Him. He is in charge.

I wait for Him, in Him I live and move and have my being not in friends, family, church. He has a master plan for my life and that is what I want not my own pleasure because His plans are the best fun. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
