My Shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd
there is nothing  I lack.
He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters.
He renews my life;
He leads me along the right path for His name's sake.
Even when I go through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger,
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff-
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
In the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil
My cup overflows.
Only goodness and faithful love
will pursue me
All the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
as long as I live. amen!

I hear the song 'Salvation Belongs to Our God'. The above Psalm speaks of the Lord's salvation, enduring love and protection. Yet words cannot describe how good He is.

As I rest in Him being GOD I go to Him for all my fears, all my needs and say 'I want to see You'!
Daily there are new challenges as my enemy does not want me to possess what has been promised, to be safe in the Lord's protection.

Remember how he went before the Lord, annoyed at God's protection of Job. He wanted to destroy Job's love and trust towards the Lord.

As I look away from all that comes against me to the Lord and say 'I want to see You', I am safe.
No weapon formed against me can prosper.

If I am followed by the Lord's goodness and faithful love, more pursued, where is there room for my enemy?

He prepares banquets for me before my enemies. How enraged are they? He has paid the price for the banquet, I do not have to pay. I have to trust that He has paid, sit down and enjoy.

I belong to His house, it is a safe place for me. I am His and He is mine. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
