Salvation

Everyday they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude, praising God and having favour with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved. Acts 2:46,47

As I read the above scripture I remember the time of my salvation. It was in a period of time when the Holy spirit was being poured out.

There were many young people around my age, which was 19, being saved. An air of freshness was pervading everything.

The joy of my salvation caused me to shine and I witnessed to all who came across my path because I had found the Jesus I had searched for for 15 of my 19 years.

I was not alone, many young people shared my joy. We ran a coffee shop on Saturday nights. We had a team praying in the prayer closet, a team in the coffee shop and a team who went down town to reach out to the lost.

On the Friday night we had bible study and not content with that we would go to our pastors place for dinner before the evening service on Sunday and plan to meet during the week with other youth for a meal and bible study. We did not have time for movies and clubs, we were alive.

Finding Christ, finding the answer to all the questions is pivotal. While at my daughter-in-laws home on Friday night I noticed that The Matrix (movie) was being re-run. My daughter-in-law said she was 12 when the original came out, can it be that old? Can I?

The key message in The Matrix was that Neo was searching for the answer to the question. His question was 'is this all there is, what is the truth?'

What is your question? Isn't it the same?

Like Neo, if you follow the path laid out for you it will lead you to the truth. There is only one way, only one answer and that answer is a person, Jesus Christ.

As we find the answer the joy is unspeakable, fresh, humbling, cleansing. We want to be with others who have found the answer, that is enough for us. Sin is complicated, not so truth! Amen!
