Authority
But Elymas the sorcerer opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul away from the faith. Then Saul filled with the Holy Spirit, stared straight at the sorcerer and said 'You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all fraud, enemy of righteousness! Won't you ever stop perverting the straight paths of the Lord? 'Now look look! The Lord's hand is against you. You are going to be blind, you will not see the sun for a time.' Acts 13:9-11
Boldness when being filled with the Holy Spirit is amazing, there is great power to speak the words of God.
I have experienced similar to the above. When pioneering a church in Wyong NSW Australia we were visited by a woman who I discerned was full of an evil spirit. Her job was to destroy and she made a path towards the men.
I was visiting a family in the church and heard that she was going with the men to help someone move and my spirit was troubled. I prayed that the Lord would not let them leave until I arrived and He answered my prayer. When I arrived I looked straight at the woman and spoke to the spirit in her.
I continued to pray about the woman and she eventually left the church. I did not confront her like Paul confronted the man above because I did not know how those around would cope, perhaps I should have because she managed to lure one of the men in our church to her home and then made accusations against him. Fortunately they could not have been substantiated.
Another time when my daughter was born and there was concerns about her having cystic fibrosis the spirit of God filled me and I boldly proclaimed it was not so and it was not so.
Two weeks ago I was involved in praying for a woman at church and I stepped into the spirit and spoke a prophesy over her, it came out in authority and surprised those around, including myself.
I love being involved with the Holy Spirit, what He says happens, what He does works. Whereas I know what it is like when He is not involved and I know what I would rather. He is best every time. Amen!
