The Knowledge of Him

I never stop giving thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the perception of your mind might be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength. Ephesians 1:16-19

What a passage, what a blessing, what a passion.

I am looking forward to talking to Paul, his passion inspires me, his dedication, his zeal, his focus propels me.

That you might know the hope of His calling. What has He (God) called you to? You are not here for someone else's pleasure, for someone else's use. You are called by God to do something. Are you fulfilling that call?

As a Christian we are given a torch to show the way. In a song by Brooke Fraser she says 'and I stand handing out torches speaking words that will be a lamp to their feet'.  She goes on the say 'I want to blaze with You (Jesus)'.

Blazing requires fire and passion. Jesus gave His all that we might be free to shine for Him, He did not die horribly so we could walk in the shadows, come out to the light and walk in the knowledge of Him and what He called you to do.

His vast strength will keep us, lift us, encourage us, empower us. Withdraw from His bank today, try using His currency. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
