The Seal

When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:13,14

When we were growing up we discovered boundaries. Our mum or dad would say 'stay here with me and do not run on the road'. Who of you ever disobeyed and ran on the road? Suddenly a car appears and you are vulnerable, very frightened and wanting like anything to be back by your parent's side and safe.

When we come to Christ and believe we are given a seal of His Holy Spirit, as long as we acknowledge that seal we are safe. He is our boundary.

It is not that we never do anything exciting, we do. In fact the Holy Spirit will lead us on some dangerous and exciting adventures but as long as we stay with Him and not lose our head and run off into the road we are safe.

The Holy Spirit is the down payment. Imagine, if what we have in Him is only a taste, what will the whole be like? The Holy spirit is good, is pure, is strong, is faithful. What does the more look like?

The Holy Spirit is my strength and my shield, He is my banner, my comforter, my encourager. What more could I want? Yest there is more and He is leading me to that more?

I have had an exciting life so far and yet there is more. My God leads me on. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
