His Way

"and if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice', you would not have condemned the guiltless.Matthew 11:7

Jesus constantly challenges attitude. The Pharisees were all about tithing to the nth degree, but missing the heart of God, which was mercy.

When we become so locked into performance we become very protective of our 'patch' and aggressively attack those who would challenge our mindsets. Perhaps we are in fact defending 'strongholds'.

When I see this happen I am challenged with the importance of staying free, Christ's way.

Strongholds are surrounding all sorts of things in our lives. Whenever we see ourselves defending 'this is the way I do this, or the way we do this', we see our problem. It can even surround a supposed 'freedom'.

When I see this in my own life I must go to the cross and repent so that I can be made free, truly free, His way, not my way.

After all Jesus said 'I am the Way, the Truth, the Life'. He never said 'you are' and it was only as people received the truth did He say 'You have this truth in you.'

In ourselves no good thing dwells unless He dwells in us. In Him I live and move and have my being. In Him!
