The New Has Come

"Where then did this man get all these things?" And they took offense at him. ....And He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matthew 13:56-68

We have heard the saying 'familiarity breeds contempt.' These people had witnessed Jesus growing up in their midst, they knew His mother, father, brothers and sisters. Knowing familiar facts can lead us to reject the supernatural.

There are times when those we know well are changed by the power of God and they do and say things that are new. Does the knowing of them in former days limit what they now say?

Jesus changes peoples lives. He Himself was changed when the Holy Spirit came upon Him. He was not longer the same. People who meet Christ walk into a whole new dimension.

When God works in a new way suspicion from the old questions and sometimes persecutes the new.

Just because the familiar is comfortable does not mean that it holds the whole truth. We have to maintain an open heart to the new, always. 'What are You saying Lord?' Amen!
