Our Deliverer

When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all who  were sick, so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:
'He Himself took out weaknesses  and carried our diseases.' Matthew 8:16,17

So many things can possess us, what we give ourselves to controls us. We might be totally oblivious and blind to its workings but it is there. We cannot foolishly race headlong into the destroyers hands and allow ourselves to be ruled by darkness.

Jesus drove out the spirits with a word. Everyone knew that the possessed were possessed. Nowadays we are so sophisticated we fail to see and the demons of darkness have a field day.

Our society has fallen in love with the workers of darkness. We idolise witches and sorcerers, we call bad good and when the good comes we avoid it calling it bad and freakish.

I am praying that the truth be made real and the darkness be exposed, that we turn to the living God for salvation.

Jesus carried our weaknesses and sins to the cross, He paid the price for our deliverance. Amen!

Lord I ask for Your salvation, your deliverance for all those You have given to me. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
