Weeds

The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while he was sleeping his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. Matthew13:24-30

Disappointment does not come into the Lord's register. He can cope with an enemy planting weeds in His field. He knows how to handle weeds. Later in the same parable Jesus says that the master of the field told his servants not to try and pull out the weeds until harvest time.

I don't know about you but the season of spring here in Australia has caused a proliferation of weeds to spring up all through my lawn, my garden beds, absolutely everywhere I don't want them they are there.

I get to and weed them all out. Yes, in some instances I manage to pull out what is not a weed at the same time. Yet in life, Christ is not willing that any should be lost. He is willing to risk the weed nature and will patiently wait until the end, when it is time to harvest.

Christ loves all more than a tidy field, He is willing to endure an unsightly mess for a while. After all, He has the plan and He is working the plan. Salvation is more precious than the look of the field.
