Welcoming Carries a Reward

The one who welcomes you welcomes Me, and the one who welcomes me welcomes Him who sent Me. Anyone who welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward. Anyone who welcomes a righteous person because he is righteous will receive a righteous person's reward. And whoever gives a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple - I assure you he will never lose his reward. Matthew 10:40-42

In the realm of the spirit it is good to understand how things work. Their is a reward process going on. Each day we will encounter spiritual experiences. As we go forth in the spirit we have opportunity to receive and reject. Others will receive and reject truth we represent. How is the Godly spoken about?

We will see and hear men and women of God as we walk, do we understand what they represent? Do we understand what we represent? We are the representation of Christ. As we go forth as His disciples people will come into our world, as they receive us they receive what we represent. If we carry the freedom of Christ people have the opportunity to receive.

The prophetic can come from the most unlikely places and if we receive their word we receive the reward that the prophet receives for being obedient. I remember hearing a prophet preach once and he said he is always listening so that he might receive.

So not only do we carry a reward for others, others come into our world carrying a reward which is ours if we choose to take it. I want all that the Lord has for me and I can only receive it if I have my ears, heart and mind open.

Never be too afraid to receive from someone we consider lowly even children can minister. I heard a preacher say recently how a street child was able to minister to him regarding his fear. He was amazed and humbled by the experience but as he received he was liberated by the experience.

Every child of God carries something, the secret is in discovering what they carry. It is sad when they carry a weapon of the enemy, it shows they are blinded to truth and we can only pray but when a child of God carries glory, ah that is special, let them shine. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
