Why Get Offended with God?

"Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?"Matthew 11:3

This was asked Jesus by someone close to Him, John the Baptist. He had heard Jesus talk a baptism of fire yet he was languishing in jail. He could have been saying, "Hey I thought we had something special, why have you not lifted a finger to help me?"

As life dishes out it's trials we, each, could say the same thing. 'But God I though you would make life good.'

Jesus replied to them, "Go and report to John what you hear and see: the blind see, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told good news. And if anyone is not offended because of me, he is blessed." (Matthew 11:4)

He was saying 'I am doing what I am meant to do, these are the captives I have come to set free. You have done what you had to do, I must do what I have to do. Please don't be offended that this does not involve dealing with Herod on your behalf'.

The power available to me in Christ is not Him coming with a magic wand and waving it all over my life and making it better. It is appropriated as I step into faith and proclaim it is mine, I take it.

Revelation says 'they overcame him (satan) by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony'. I must take hold of what has been done and make it mine. As I praise the Lord for what He has done, it becomes mine. He has finished the work He came to do, it is mine for the taking.

Each one of us must use faith, faith is what gets things done, faith is the power to change my world, it is the cash, the tender for the transaction.

Yesterday I was struggling with extreme tiredness, my mind was covered with thoughts of what was wrong with me, life was hard, etc, etc (garbage, garbage) I said 'Jesus your word says you have come to give me life' then I praise you that you are my life, you are my strength, you are my wholeness.'

I then became whole and succeeded in doing the work I had to do and more beside. He is the answer, He is the strength, He is the provider. Amen!
