Withered Hearts

He went out from there and entered their synagogue. An there was a man with a withered hand. And they asked him, "is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?" - so that they might accuse Him. He said to to them, "which one of you has a sheep. If it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value is a man than the sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath." Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And the man stretched it out it was restored, healthy like the other. But the Pharisees went out and conspired against Him, how to destroy Him. Matthew 12:9-13

The man was unimportant to the Pharisees, their opinion was greater than humanity or any truth. Jesus, who loved humanity despised such religiosity. Their false spirits annoyed Him.

Our God is greater than any religious ideas or opinions. That people are set free from sin and disease is His desire.

Our God is about compassion. He came to set men free not bind them with practices or dogmas. Salvation is free!

The man with the withered hand represents their withered hearts. Withered hearts can be restored but must be stretched out towards the Saviour. Repentance is all that is required to see.
