He answered them, "Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written:
These people honour Me with their lips, but their heart is far from me, They worship me in vain teaching as doctrines the commands of men. Disregarding the commands of God, you keep the traditions of men." Mark 7:6-8
Ouch! The Pharisees were being rejected by the Son of God, so in their effort to stay as they were they plotted to kill Him, to silence the truth.
How far will we go to protect the status quo? Again and again our God will move on His people to bring freshness and change and there are those who fight it, wanting to stay the same.
Why do we fight change? Usually because we are insecure and want to control our world so we gain security. What a sham!
Only the bold and brave will find truth and freedom, only those who seek will find, the door is opened to those who knock.
Our God is moving! I welcome the fresh wind as I am mightily sick of the stale, insipid present. Our churches are powerless to heal, we need to be healed ourselves. Set us free Lord! Amen!
