When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and beached the boat. As they got out of the boat, people immediately recognised Him. They hurried throughout that vicinity and began to carry the sick on mats to wherever they heard He was. Wherever He would go, into the villages, towns, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged Him that they might touch the tassels of His robe. And everyone who touched it was made well. Mark 6:53-56
Jesus's ministry was flat out, always surrounded by crowds pressing in for healing. Yet it did not faze Him, or weary Him. As Jesus had left His deity behind He was man relying on the power of God to sustain Him.
There was no room for football, the movies, dinner out with friends or any of the various leisurely activities we give to ourselves. He was on His knees, teaching His disciples and ministering to the masses.
I think we have become a little soft, well yes a lot soft, on ourselves. We are inclined to feel sorry for ourselves and defend ourselves and even make excuses.
Tonight I had a meal with friends and then we watched a movie, which I could have well done without, a whole lot of rubbish, now I need to flush out my head. I am so grateful to Jesus for living like He did and giving me the example He did. Thank You Lord! Amen!
