"I assure you, you will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy. When a woman is in labour she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to a child, she no longer removers the suffering because of the joy that a child has been born into the world. So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will rob you of your joy. In that day you will not ask me anything." John 16:20-23
Been through difficult times? Dark times? Times of weeping and wailing!
The above scripture holds a promise. After the pain and anguish comes joy, joy that no one can take away.
My hope is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth,
My strength is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (song)
I have had two childbirth experiences. I know of what Jesus speaks. The pain is so intense you think you are going to die, but you don't and then you succeed in holding new life, awesome.
So, the moral of the tale could be: hang on, you are almost there, breathe, the new life is coming.
What Jesus went through was truly horrible, much worse than most childbirths yet 'for the joy set before Him He endured the cross'.
Endure, hang in there, stay in place, don't leave and you will win. Amen!
