Truth Knows No Lie

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. I Do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist- he denies the Father and the Son. 1John 2:20-22

The apostle John is writing to the church at around 90 AD. There were people who had been a part of the church go out from the church with their own gospel based on works.

Whenever we deny the power of the cross we take a stand against what Jesus died for.

If my righteousness has anything to do with my self effort, in my own mind, I am mistaken. I miss the point and act as an Antichrist.

No I am no the Antichrist but his spirit takes hold.

The apostle John states that his readers know and have the truth. What is that truth? That Jesus is the Christ, He has all the power and He came from the Father. In other words He is God!

All I have to do is accept the truth, love and obey. Easy!! When laced with grace that He gives yes!

Last night I received news that a woman I had known lost the fight against cancer. This woman I instantly liked and would have loved to spend time with sharing Christ. Yet her world closed in around her and her source of truth was her mother, a woman who did not believe.

The woman who died was a 'good woman' who helped many diagnose early breast cancer, yet where is she now and for all of eternity? If, to her dying moment she placed her faith in a lie, she is now with the father of lies and will remain there, forever.

My goodness will not save me. Accepting and living in Christ will.

What grieves me most is that this woman's best friend was a backslidden Christian. Where is the power? Where is the truth in lies?

I have a job to do and that is to shine for Christ, yet while I live. Amen!
