Distress

Do not be far from me, as distress is here, and there is no one to help. Psalm 22:11

Distress can so overwhelm us at times, it's blackness covers the sun. Horrible things, unspeakable things, happen.

Even underneath the blackness He is present, His strength ever ready should we call.

In times of distress I cry out to Him because I need to hear His voice, feel His breath upon my hair. When I find Him I find peace.

He was in the fiery furnace, the lion's den, He is with us and although we cannot feel it we can trust it.

I am not in the furnace right now but have just had two hard weeks when I was cutting through brambles to walk the path.

Sheer tenacity and determination will see me through as long as I can see Him, He is leading me, His principles order my steps, His words correct my heart.

I am learning that because He said it, all will be well, not because I feel good or because everything is going we.

I am now home after an interesting, long drive up through Gloster and Barrington. My car handled the S bends well and I enjoyed the challenge. However it would have been nice to have some good coffee along the way.
The scenery was spectacular even though I came across a caravan on it's side and a FwD tipped over as a result.

I was fortunate that I was not close when it happened and the passengers were fortunate they were not injured. As there was a reasonable amount of traffic it was also good that nothing worse became of the whole thing. Thank You Lord!
