Running Ahead

Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; for whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 2John: 9

Scripture is full of admonition to stay on the path. Jesus said He was the Way. When we read proverbs we see it is full of wisdom and true wisdom is walking close the the Lord and not our own understanding.

Running on ahead is not staying behind the Way. We run on ahead like little children who learn a small amount of information and think that is ALL the information.

Today I watched a video of my youngest grandson hammering a nail into a candle. In his immaturity he may assume he now knows how to hammer a nail into wood. Wood Nd candles are totally different and require totally different skills.

We want to run ahead when we finally have a 'light bulb' moment and think;I've got it now'. Wrong! It is always good to stay close, vines need to stay attached to live and so do we.

I can run, with Him!
