A Safe Heart

You do not delight in sacrifice and offering; You open my ears to listen. You do not ask for a whole burnt offering or a sin offering.
Then I said, 'see, I have come; it is written about me in the volume of the scroll.
I delight to do Your will, My God; Your instruction lives within me." psalm 40:6-8

God delights in relationship and out of that relationship is a desire to give and obey. He is not into ritual.

David caught the importance of relationship and loved the word of God. He found his relationship with the Lord alluded to in scripture then, just as I do now.

My greatest delight is to know I am in His will and that He is near. His ways mean more than personal fulfillment. I want what comes out of Him not myself.

I want to find Him in my experience and want to make room for Him to move. When I do I see His glory and it is awesome to behold!

David knows that God opens his ears to listen, this is so good. I can hear Him, I can experience the spirit of faith as I have my heart ready to hear.

A heart that has ears is a safe heart! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
