Tonight I watched the replay of Sally Person's 100m hurdle and the subsequent interview after the race.
Sally was asked questions about her focus and her preparation and she basically said she was focused on gold and the Olympics, everything she did for the last 4 years was in preparation for that race.

Her fellow Olympian Anna Meades won gold in the cycling. Anna said she had to refuse to watch the media leading up to her race because previously they has been full of reports about comments of her English rival and it un-nerved her.

We are seeing, firsthand, what the Olympians must endure if they hope the win gold, let alone be at the Olympics.
