Oil of Joy
You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God has anointed you with the oil of joy, more than your companions. Psalm 45:7
I believe this psalm is a prophetic psalm about Christ but as I read the above I see how I can appropriate it for myself.
If I can hate wickedness and love righteousness (right living before God and man) then I can expect to be anointed with the oil of joy.
I love His courts; His ways; His thoughts; His preferences; His delight is my delight.
Out of my love for Him comes boundaries of constraint into my world.
Love conquers all. True love enables obedience. Because I am loved and love in return I want His ways, they are my greatest pleasure.
His hand on the door to my world excites me. The sense of His presence thrills me, His plans cause me to laugh for joy, His abundance causes me to dance in the rain.
How blessed am I?
