Sin

The fool says in His heart, 'God does not exist.' they are corrupt, and they do vile deeds. There is no one who does good.
God looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is anyone who is wise, one who seeks God.
All have turned away; all alike have been corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one. Psalm 53:1-3
These verses are reflected in Romans 3:10-12

The concept of sin is not recognized in today's society. Vice is something done against oneself; crime is something done against society or an individual but sin is something done against God. Since modern culture is essentially atheistic, 'sin' has become a meaningless term. (footnotes- HCSB bible)

How the does the Christian keep a tender conscience? Staying close to God, in vital union with Him. You may
ask why do I want to be mindful of sin!
That is not the goal, but as I stay close He shows me when I break fellowship with Him and I do this when I sin.

Fellowship with Him is most important because that is where life is. Life apart from Him is not really life, it is animalistic existence.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
