Zion

For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His home. "this is my resting place forever;!i will make my home here because I have desired it. Psalm 132:13,14

Zion represents the church. Jesus came and showed us how God will dwell within us, and as a group of people who share His presence and His spirit when we gather there is He in our midst.

However, just as Israel wrongly assume that God would never leave we cannot assume that the Lord would find the behavior of His people distasteful and not want to be around.

I remember being in a large church as sensing the Lord walking in, looking around and leaving. He was looking for those who's hearts were really His.

Great music, great performance from the front are not what makes a great church. Hunger for God and a genuine seeking of His face, touching others with genuine concern rather than a 'go your way brother and be warm', when they are poor and destitute, is not His way.

What is his way? Genuine love for Him and others.
