Abiding

He who abides in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the almighty. Psalm 91:1

Key word: 'abides'.

What does abide mean?
Wait, yield, tolerate, to accept without objection. Personally I think a better word would be 'grafted' or 'embrace'.

Abide can give a sense of 'putting up with'. Whereas choosing to be grafted or to embrace a place required heart commitment.

As I give my heart, soul and mind to dwelling in God's presence I am choosing to be a complete part of who He is and His values are my values.

As I become a part of His household, I live out of that place. Therefore I also live in His shadow.

In earthly term this is not so good. We think that living in someone's shadow is causing us to be less a person. And yes it is, in human relations.

However, if I am living in the Lord's shadow I am protected by Him and the key difference between the Lord and others is: He empowers me to be all I can be, whereas others rob me.

He is totally good and worthy of praise. He is freedom, He is protection. Amen!
