I cry aloud to God, and He will hear me. I sought the Lord in my day of trouble.
My hands were continually lifted up all night long; I refused to be comforted. I think of God, I groan; I meditate; my spirit becomes weak. Psalm 77:1-3
When Jesus taught His disciples about prayer He told them a story about a wan who had been wronged by her family. She went to the unrighteousness judge and pestered him until he said: 'I fear neither God or man but because you are driving me nuts I will help you.' Jesus said we must be persistent in prayer like this.
Our God waits for us to be desperate and seek Him with all that we are. At times I feel as though my insides are torn out as I weep and pray before Him.
Why does He do this? He wants us to know desperate need because we are inclined to be lazy in our relationships.
In moments of intense need, intense pray is best. You have to get intense about Him instead of shoes, clothes, cars, stuff.
He is worth getting intense over, try Him!
