There must not be a strange god among you; you must not now down to a foreign god.
But My people did not listen to me; Israel did not obey Me.
So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own plans.

It seems that God has a way, a way in which He heals us, blesses us, answers us, protects us.
However, what gets in the way is a stubborn heart that wants to do things it's own way.
Wanting my own way damages me, wanting what I want hinders me. If I believe I am fulfilled if I have such and such, then I restrict God's hand.
If I believe the answers should come the way that I think they should come then I deceive myself.
Don't limit God! He has a perfect plan, flow with that! Let Him be God! Amen!
