Ashamed of the Gospel?

For whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son if Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory and that of the Father and His holy angels. Luke 9:26

We have friends in various forms and nowadays we have Facebook full of friends. Do our friends know where we stand? If you came onto my Facebook you would see little other than me liking comments posted by others, photos of my grandchildren or links to my business page which is attached. However, if you wanted to know what manner of person I was you would know from my page, what do I say that represents who I am? Because of the work link I have to be careful what I write, in fact I told what I can and cannot write. Yet I am black and white, no grey.

Do your friends know your colour? If they were asked, in a court if law, what manner of person you were, what would they say? Would they know you were a Christian? Would they know you were totally committed? Or would they say, "he compromises on his morals, he is a glutton, he treats his family bad, he has a bad temper, but he says he is a Christian!"

Our Saviour does not sit in judgement of us, on the contrary He died for us and is constantly reaching out to us. However, there is coming a day when He will return and He will be looking for us. Will He see us in the darkness? Will there be a light shining where we stand?

Our enemy, the devil, also sees our colour. When he knows we do not compromise and our faith is in our Lord he sees our authority. Conversely, if he sees our dirty clothes he knows he can reel us in with deception and he throws them out one after the other after the other after the other. A trail of death leading away from life and authority.

Today a choice is before us, Life and Death. Choose life that you might live! (Deuteronomy 30:19)
