Soon afterwards He was on His way to a town called Nain. His disciples and a large crowd were traveling with Him. Just as He neared the gate of the town, a dead man was being carried out. He was his mother's only son and she was a widow. When The Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, "don't cry." Then He came up and touched the open coffin, and the pallbearers stopped. He said, "young man I tell you, get up!"
The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus have him to his mother. Luke 6:11-15
The people who saw this miracle experienced fear and awe. The mother's joy would know no bounds.
To us this mother was just a part of a story yet to Jesus she was a someone.
Jesus purposefully took the lowly and ministered to them. Yet I wonder what her prayer had been. Our Lord sees our moments of desperation, loneliness, anguish, He heads our prayers. Did the Father send the Son as an answer to prayer? Perhaps it was the prayer if a friend. We do not know but we know our God is loving and responds to us.
Ever had someone say, " I was just thinking about you and you called." Do you know our God organizes things for us? Why? Because He loves!
I love my Lord for the little things! He has shown us that His eyes are always open, His ears do not rest. Thank You Lord! Amen!
