Safe in Him

One day He (Jesus) and His disciples got into a boat, and He told them, "let's cross
over to the other side of the lake." So they set out, and as they were sailing He fell asleep. Then a fierce wind storm came down on the lake; they were being swamped and were in danger. They came an woke Him up, saying, "master, master, we're going to die!" Then He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. So they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them, "where is your faith?" Luke 8:22-25

In Tamworth, NSW, Australia we have had some mighty storms and bush fires just recently. In the last two storms a lot of people have had damage to motor vehicles and yesterday the storm lifted roofs off houses but in both instances I was safe.

Over the weekend the state of NSW was alight with fires all over but I was ok. As I pray I hear the Holy Spirit say, "speak to the storm, speak to the fire". As an excited little girl I did expecting the belligerent dog to behave and it did.

When I saw my state alight I prayed for rain, I prayed for those who bravely fought the fires and for those threatened by the fires. My God is not in the storm or the fire. We have an enemy and it is not God.

Our God is a God of mercy ever willing to protect, heal and provide. I am safe in Him! Amen!
