Forgiveness and Faith
The apostles said to The Lord, "increase our faith." Jesus said, " if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, "be uprooted and planted in the sea', and it will obey you.
Luke 17:5,6
Jesus, in the previous verse had taught on the need to forgive as often as was asked. Like us, giving forgiveness and not harboring attitude or offense is the challenge. However, we are well able as I myself found.
We would rather entertain the ability to move mulberry trees and mountains instead of the faith required to forgive and keep on forgiving.
Forgiveness is one of the foundational truths of the gospel. For God so loved the world that He sent His Son for whoever believes in Him shall have eternal life. John 3:16
God didn't send His Son to condemn the world but that the world through Christ might be saved. Verse 17.
God sent His best to show His forgiveness. What will we send?
Forgiveness is the gospel of God's grace.
No matter how we are hurt if we are asked to forgive then we can do it as we have all the faith required to do it.
Forgiveness releases us as well as the one we forgive.
I know for the one who accused me turned around and asked for forgiveness and I gave it. I am now praying for this person.
Now, even if my accuser did not ask for forgiveness if I forgive anyway I release to God that person and He is well able to sort it out. Amen!
