Betrayal
But look, the hand of the one betraying Me is at the table with Me! Luke 22:21
How could Judas not give himself away?
How could he go ahead with his betrayal when publicly confronted by someone who had been the best thing in all the world to him, had given him a break in life?
In a previous verse we are told satan entered Judas. Satan cannot go through closed doors, Judas had done something to welcome Satan in. We know he was offended at Jesus for allowing Mary to anoint His feet with expensive ointments, he wanted to be able to sell them for a profit. If he was a gambler we could understand, scripture tells us that he helped himself to the treasury.
I wonder what qualifications Judas had to be asked to care for the money. I wonder why Matthew, the tax collector was not chosen.
Suffice to say Judas sat through the Last Supper with a determined heart to betray.
Don't give you enemy room to break into your life with his poison! Kick him out! Judas died horribly. Remember?
Keep it clean! Amen!
