Denying Christ

Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. Then The Lord turned and looked at Peter. So Peter remembered the word of The Lord, how He had said to him, "before the rooster crows today you will deny Me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly. Luke 22:60-62

How would you be if that was you? Have you ever done something similar? Have you been caught and embarrassed and denied friendship with someone? Perhaps a Christian? Have you denied following Christ?

Peter was severely affected by what he had done. However, when Jesus told him he would do this He also said, "i have prayed for you that your faith will not fail and when you have turned, strengthen your brothers." (22:31,32)

Grace was extended before Peter needed it.

Why was Peter out on a limb exposed to such a situation?

Peter had said, "I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death". V33

Ever boasted about something you thought you had but in reality didn't! This is what Peter was doing. He believed it, emotionally, but did not really know it, experientially.

The good news is that even if we fail and make similar or worse mistakes He is there for us, with forgiveness. Amen!
