New Bodies
Jesus told them, "the sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are counted worthy to take part in that age (eternity) and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry or are given in marriage. For they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are sons of God, since they are sons of the resurrection. Luke 20:34-36
Ever wondered about this?
The book of Revelation also says there will be no more crying, no more sickness.
If you are attached to your mate you might find it hard to believe you will no longer be married, however I am sure the time you have spent with each other on earth will make you eternally good buddies and if it has not been so good, when you are in the Lord's presence the things that bugged you here you will understand there.
I imagine there will be a lot of catching up and understanding in the Light. Jesus has a way of illuminating things we do not fathom or understand.
I have had a dear friend die and I am looking forward to see him in eternity for he died horribly with cancer. To see this man in his new body will be great and to see him now that He has spent time in the Lord's presence and had all the kinks ironed out will be greater.
All questions will be answered for those who love The Lord and walk according to His promise.
The Samaritans did not believe in eternity.
How sad! How sad there will be many who miss a glorious opportunity all because if unbelief!
Personally I am looking forward to forever.
By the way the phrase: 'those who are counted worthy' just means those who accept Christ as their Saviour. You do not have to earn eternity with works just faith.
