A Different Gospel
I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from Him who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are troubling you and want to change the good news about the Messiah. Galatians 1:6,7
The Galatians were troubled by something all Christians will be tested with: works not grace. Our enemy knows that if he can distracted us with our guilt; inadequacies; shame he can motivate us to earn righteousness that has already been given, freely.
For by grace we have been saved and are being saved, continually by grace.
Salvation is our gift from a God who loves us, without measure. It cost us nothing and Him everything. We are loved so passionately, we cannot begin to imagine how we are loved, yet all we have to do is say 'yes' continually, daily.
We turn away when we are deceived into doing so, yet to return all we have to do is turn, completely and give our heart again and again and again.
Our enemy comes in various guises, some are leaders who don't know better, some pretend to be leaders. If we are being troubled by one who preaches works and condemnation then this is a false gospel and needs shunning. Don't let anyone rule you by condemnation, yet don't take a genuine rebuke as condemnation either, be wise enough to know the difference. Amen!
