Predestined to Conform

For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined He also called; and those He called, He also justified, and those He justified, He also glorified. Romans 8:29,30
 
I once had someone say to me: 'If seems unfair that God knows who He is going to call to Himself!' I explained: 'It isn't those God gets picky but that He can see out of all He loves who will want to know Him'.
 
All are welcome but not all will want to know Him. However, He can see, down through time, those who will respond and those He predestines to be conformed to the image of His Son. If we come to Him then we need to become like Him.
 
When we come to Christ and believe on Him and His sacrifice for our sins then we are justified, cleansed from all wrongdoing and He fills us with His Holy Spirit as a seal of redemption, we are then filled with His glory. How cool is that?
 
There is a future glorification but for now we can see His glory as we respond to Him.
 
The important thing is that we who do say yes are drawn to become like Christ, we are called to become His brothers and sisters. Have you made room for Him? Are you ready to honour Him as the firstborn? He is not to be treated as a Cinderella and put down in the cellar or the back room. He is God! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
