Sincere Love

Love must be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good. Romans 12:9

Lately I am seeing posts on Twitter about the death of Rick Warren's son and mentions about his enemies (fellow Christians) gloating. How horrid!

I know myself when my enemies are injured the thoughts come and I have to choose not to say those thoughts because they are full of venom and we know where venom comes from, the pit!

We are told in the book of James why fights arise. Do you remember? Let's review them shall we?

What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don't they come from the cravings that are at war within you? You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and don't receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your evil desires. James 4:1-3

We must know ourselves and not be deceived into thinking we are good, only God is good, we are redeemed! And redeemed by grace, I might add!

Self-righteousness, pride, arrogance, judgement, gossip all come from the pit. What part does light have with darkness?

We are called to be the light of the world and if the light within us is darkness how dark will that be?

Christians, remember who you are! Blood bought! Redeemed! Saved! Behave as a grateful son not a wicked slave of sin. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
