Spiritual Fruit
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. We must not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:22-25
Wow! So much beauty can come from walking in the Spirit. We must admit that a person controlled by The Spirit is a beauty to behold and a joy to know.
As opposed to the works of the flesh in verses 19,20 these fruits are desirable. And the last: self-control along with the first: love, can extinguish all the works of the flesh and produce the remaining fruit which are a blessing to all.
We are told in verse 24: now those who belong to Christ crucify the flesh. This does not sound like we go easy on our flesh but rather we kill it and this is only possible as we stay connected to the vine ( Christ) and allow His thought to be our thoughts, His ways to be our ways.
Amen!
Trying to produce fruit ourselves is not necessary for as we stay connected to the vine and refuse the be tempted away by the flesh the fruit will be there. Amen!
